-Shattered Dreams-

"Good"

submission: -Shattered Dreams-
date: February 25, 2007

Ah, the kind of music that springs into my mind when my efforts to make my dreams happen results into failure.

The music was very touching and sad. It would work very well in a sad scene of a movie.

Nice job.

"Wow"

date: February 25, 2007

This is going to be my last review for today.

This piece of musical art definitely describes how the world works. Truth, lies, hardly any trust in the world now. The emotional truth about today’s world which is filled with true and false made by the many inhabitants of this world.

I may not be the best reviewer on Newgrounds, but all your music has moved me today. You are truly gifted and your gift of classical music making has impressed me.

You have a bright future of music ahead of you.

Author's Response:

Oh man, I missed this review?! My sincerest apologize Heinrich, if you are even going to see this review, I would like to know I apologize for my tardiness, sometimes I forget if the number has changed.

I am glad you liked the pieces Heinrich, it means a good deal to me, I appreciate you taking the time to listen to them and dropping your support, more so then anything for me that is more important, to know the pieces did something for somebody.

Wether I do this for a career or purely as a hobby is still greatly up in debate for myself, but whichever one I pick the end result is i'm not planning on stopping anytime soon.

Once again, thank you for all your reviews, I am glad you liked this piece!

"Another Story"

date: February 25, 2007

This one has a full story for me to tell.

A Native American boy wakes up early in the morning with the sun rising behind the hills. He runs to the hill and climbs with haste to see the morning sun, only to see the other side of the hill to be scorched. Nothing but a barren wasteland. He looks around slowly and sees spirits of the dead people and the animals rise up from the ground and start to circle around him slowly to quickly. The spirits close on him faster and beginning to lift him off the ground, into the morning sky and into the stars where he looks over his shoulder to see the very Earth. He stares at it with amazement for he is with the stars. He closes his eyes for a minute and then opens them, only to see that he is back in his teepee with his family sleeping on the ground as if nothing happened.

Normally, music gives me several scenes in my mind so it doesn’t make sense but this one is one of the few that gave me a full story.

Good job.

Author's Response:

I thought I had responded to this! Oh man, sorry about that Heinrich!

Interesting you envisioned a Native American, for I envisioned somebody from the lost ages, like the Aztecs, grand old race that thrived, and then one day all within the lifespan of one genertion, they began to crumble and dissipate... of course, not everybody looked to the future with certain death, there were those who would fight for their home and land, for their dreams.

Thank you for the review Hein, i'm glad you liked the piece!

"Good"

date: February 25, 2007

Not much to say about this one but this one has me imagining a camp in the middle of the forest with people sitting around it, staring off into the night skies filled with stars and wondering what will become of them.

It was a nice touch with the camp sounds in the background of the music.

Author's Response:

This one was mostly to relax too. I was feeling very sentimental at the time I made this, old friendships, loyalties, old characters that had long died in my head to bring back anew, things like that.

I really should expand this one, it really meant a lot to me, but I guess I just didn't know what to do with it after a while.

Oh well, i'm glad it gave you an image, I hope it helped you relax.

Thank you for the review ^^. I'm glad you liked it.

submission: _-={Dark Skies}=-_

I can imagine a dark day with a man in a necromancer outfit standing on top of a mountain watching his minions approaching a city.

You did a good job at making it into a RPG soundtrack. The melody was nice and it sounded like it was very urgent for a rescue or an invasion scenario.

Good as always.

Author's Response:

Thanks Heinrich. The piece itself wasn't used in the game, a much more talented artist came around and blew me out of the water ;), but this one was a very difficult one for me to produce, as it uses some very old styles I used back in the day and some new jazzy styles which weren't very compatible.

The result was still pretty good, and having learned a lot from it, was good enough for me.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it.

Yet another fine piece by you. It was slow and suspenseful at first but it got better as it built up and went rather crazy with the diversity of sound after the laughter of the man who set them all up inside the labyrinth for his own personal amusement. The brothers press on their journey in the maze and finally meet up with no hostility but rather with an urge to find the man who made it all happen.

Very epic as all your work. Seriously, I’m really enjoying your music.

Author's Response:

an interesting rendition, to be honest in my take on the song, the maniac laughter is from the second brother, taken away from his brother at an early age and locked in this labrynth as an outcast and forced to become a cold killer. The first brother had his mind wiped clean and grew up nearly in royalty.

To graduate from his academy and become a symbol of power to his people he had to go into the labyrinth and kill the beast inside.

You can make the connection after that :D.

In any case, thank you for the review, I am enjoying reading them. I'm glad you liked the piece!

"Great"

date: February 25, 2007

Great as always. This one had me imagining a man running through a forest with battle scenes in between. Almost like he was trying to run away from the memories of battle which has consumed his people.

The mixture of choirs makes the great diversity that makes your work enjoyable and gives a wealth of mental pictures of the disasters of warfare.

A very powerful piece I must say, a very exotic kind of epic music. Keep up the good work; I’m really enjoying burning up some time with your music.

Author's Response:

burn away good sir! Burn away ^^. I've always liked to escape to another world in my own head, if you can escape to somewhere else then i'm more then happy.

The choir in this one was rather difficult to make, it is actually a mix and blend of 4 different ones. Separately the choir sounds were all mediocre and horrible sounding, luckily I was able to merge them all into decent sounding choirs.

The congo drums were there because I loved them so :D. Very exotic as you stated.

Once again, thank you for the review and support, I truly appreciate them. I'm glad you liked the piece!

"Ahhhhh"

date: February 25, 2007

I instantly thought of the country side of northern Britain once it started playing.

Brings in a great atmosphere especially with the flute and the low strings making a melodic relaxation of the listener’s soul. Very relaxing it was.

Your music is very impressive. They sound like they can actually be in Hollywood movies. The very sound relaxes me and gave me breaks in between writing this review. It’s that relaxing and beautiful.

Author's Response:

Then they do for you exactly what I intended for them. This one was a practice piece mostly, trying out new things, and I didn't pay much attention to the treble volumes, I fear they may be too high pitched, perhaps a remake is in order. Not now though, it's too soon for a remake of it. When i'm more experienced i'll return to it, and see if I can give it more depth.

As long as the hollywood movies would be willing to give the soundtrack away for free i'd be interested, sadly, thats not how hollywood works ;).

Until that miracle happens, i'm here on Newgrounds.

Thank you again for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^.

"Beautiful"

date: February 25, 2007

Wow, third submission I’m reviewing and I’m already growing to like you as another favorite audio author of mine.

Sounded like an execution was taking place at first, but then the mood changes into a traveling and then a discovery feeling. This has quite a few stories to tell depending on what your imagination is. I imagine this taking place in the ancient age.

The drums add in a nice atmosphere, with some clapping every few seconds to add into the drumming beat.

It is yet another beautiful story of God’s gift of music made by you. Great job.

Author's Response:

You should hear the full version Heinrich :D. I hope I can put it up when the product is ready to boot, chances are not though, it is in my opinion a fair deal better.

Oh well.

This one was a really big undertaking, but like all undertakings I didn't walk away empty handed. It taught me a great deal and really that helps me tell stories better, and thats what i'm all about here!

An interesting side note, this piece started off entirely with the drums, and then just made it more melodic... again... and again... and then again.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^.

"Beautiful"

date: February 25, 2007

I can really picture this into a sad cathedral scene in a movie with the singing, the organ and the bells all working together to tell a story of the crumbling parts of life.

Hell, this sounds like it’s from an award-winning medieval movie soundtrack. You did an amazing job at this. This brings up visual thoughts and that is the kind of music I like.

Very moving and beautiful. Good job.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you could see an image to this piece Heinrich, it is my intention to bring about a feeling/idea/story with every song I put up here, and to know it has done that means it was successful in it's goal.

Thank you for the compliment, perhaps for the next Lord of the Rings movie, probably called something like Majesties of the Circular Metals, i'll be old and experienced enough to jump on board :D.

Nah, I do all this for free so everybody can hear it anyways ;).

Thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!
